Truth About Drugs in Mid-Missouri

In 2022, twice as many Missouri residents died of drug overdose than in a car accident. This number has nearly doubled in the last 5 years and is an entirely preventable tragedy. The Prost Foundation offers educator kits and drug education pamphlets free of charge. In addition, we provide speakers to groups and educational centers to speak on the topic of drug use in an entertaining and educational manner.

Drug Education Pamphlets

The Prost Foundation offers 17 different pamphlets, each describing a harmful drug and its impact. The pamphlets are written in simple language that anyone can understand and readily agree with. We are happy to provide any number of these pamphlets to educators, groups and volunteer organizations in mid-Missouri to help combat the scourge of drug use in Missouri.

Marijuana Abuse

According to the National Institute of Health, studies have demonstrated that the use of marijuana by youth increases both the chances of developing a substance abuse disorder and the chance of unemployment in adulthood. Because the drug has become legal in the state, children and adults run the risk of believing its use is safe and without consequences. The Prost Foundation offers free materials on the use of pot and its impacts.

Drug Education Lectures

Our speakers are happy to present The Truth about Drugs to any community or school in Missouri. The lectures are roughly one hour long and equip listeners with the information they need to make informed decisions regarding drug use. As a result, attendees have the tools and information they need to help themselves and others live a drug-free lifestyle.

Testimonials

“The booklets were extremely well done!! …They [students] were blown away with the stories that addicts shared in the booklets. It gave them a good picture of the actual consequences of drug use. Some of them were able to open up about their parents’ drug use. I am amazed that there is such a program out there that is FREE and so informative. It’s all there!!!”

LM – Health Teacher

Hopefully, more students will try to channel their behavior and avoid risks. Comments from some of the students were ‘I will never touch drugs!’ ‘I’ll tell my friends about this!’ ‘Experimentation is part of youth, but one can experiment with sports instead.’

Let’s prevent drug abuse in Mid-Missouri together.
